About the role

NexGen Media is preparing a major app store launch and needs a Database Administrator to ensure the mobile and backend data layers work in perfect sync. You will fine‑tune schemas, optimize queries, and support real‑time data flows for the new mobile experience.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL databases supporting the mobile backend.
• Implement replication and sharding strategies to handle peak launch traffic.
• Collaborate with mobile engineers to align data models with app requirements.
• Monitor performance, conduct index tuning, and resolve latency issues.
• Develop backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery procedures.

Must-have skills

• Strong experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL in production.
• Proven ability to optimize queries and schema for high‑concurrency mobile workloads.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for database migrations.
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure Cosmos DB).
• Knowledge of containerized database deployments.
• Background in mobile analytics data pipelines.
