Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
- Perform data entry tasks, including invoicing, reconciliations, and journal entries
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card statements on a monthly basis
- Process and manage payroll, including calculating salaries, benefits, and taxes
- Prepare and submit tax returns, including sales tax, payroll tax, and income tax
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with the financial team to prepare annual budgets and forecasts
- Provide financial support to various departments, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and purchasing
- Analyze financial data and provide recommendations for cost savings and process improvements
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, including banks, auditors, and financial institutions
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with discretion
- Stay up-to-date with changes in financial regulations and legislation, and implement changes as necessary
- Provide training and support to other team members on financial procedures and policies
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping or a related field
- Proficiency in accounting software, including QuickBooks and Xero
- Excellent data entry skills, with high accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze financial data and provide recommendations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with team members
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently, with a high level of productivity
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with discretion
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Certification in bookkeeping or a related field, such as Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or Certified Public Bookkeeper (CPB)
- Experience with payroll processing and tax preparation
