Frontend React Developer Needed for Mission-Critical SPA Development

About the role

Summit Digital is revamping a high‑traffic legacy production platform. The goal is a seamless, zero‑downtime transition to a modern React stack while preserving existing user experience. You will partner with backend engineers and DevOps to deliver incremental UI upgrades that can be released without service interruption.

Key responsibilities

• Refactor legacy UI components into reusable React functional components.
• Implement state management using Redux or Context API to support live feature toggles.
• Write TypeScript typings and enforce strict linting for maintainable code.
• Collaborate on feature flags and canary releases to ensure zero‑downtime deployment.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior contributors on best practices.

Must-have skills

• Strong experience building SPAs with React.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Understanding of modern build tools (Webpack, Vite) and CI pipelines.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, asynchronous environment.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with server‑side rendering (Next.js).
• Experience with performance profiling and optimization.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG).
