About the role

Harbor Softworks is launching a greenfield SaaS product for a remote‑first team. We need a Java Developer to design and implement core backend services that will power the initial release and set the foundation for rapid feature growth.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and code microservice components using Java and Spring Boot
• Define RESTful APIs and ensure they meet performance and security standards
• Collaborate with product owners to translate requirements into technical tasks
• Write unit and integration tests, and maintain CI pipelines
• Document service contracts and contribute to architectural decision records

Must-have skills

• Strong Java expertise with Spring Boot framework
• Experience building microservices in a cloud environment
• Understanding of REST, JSON, and API versioning
• Proficiency with Git and Agile workflows

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Docker and container orchestration
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions
• Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS or GCP
