About the role

Orbit Labs is creating a robust data pipeline to feed analytics for operations teams. We need a PHP Developer to design, implement, and optimize backend services that ingest, transform, and expose data for real‑time insights.

Key responsibilities

• Build scalable PHP services using Laravel to extract and load operational data.
• Design MySQL schemas and queries that support high‑volume analytics workloads.
• Implement data validation, error handling, and logging for reliable pipelines.
• Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to define API contracts and performance targets.
• Write automated tests and documentation to ensure maintainability.

Must-have skills

• Strong proficiency in PHP and Laravel framework.
• Deep experience with MySQL design, indexing, and query optimization.
• Understanding of data pipeline patterns and RESTful API development.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, contract setting.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Docker or containerized deployments.
• Experience with message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka).
• Background in analytics or BI tooling.
