About the role

Harbor Softworks is building the next generation of mobile experiences that sync seamlessly with its backend services. We need a Python Backend Developer to shape the server side of our upcoming app store launch, ensuring the API layer talks flawlessly with the mobile client.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the "PulseSync" service that aggregates user activity for real‑time mobile dashboards.
• Build RESTful endpoints using FastAPI, optimizing response times for under 150 ms.
• Create Docker images and CI pipelines in GitHub Actions for automated testing and deployment.
• Integrate PostgreSQL schemas for transactional and analytical workloads, including migration scripts with Alembic.
• Collaborate with the iOS/Android team to define API contracts and versioning strategy.
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests covering at least 85% code coverage.

Must-have skills

• Strong Python development experience, preferably with FastAPI or Flask.
• Proficient in PostgreSQL design, indexing, and query optimization.
• Hands‑on knowledge of Docker containerization and orchestration.
• Experience building and documenting REST APIs.
• Familiarity with Git version control and CI/CD workflows.

Nice to have

• Exposure to mobile backend patterns such as push notifications.
• Understanding of async programming in Python.
