About the role

Cascade Apps is launching a security hardening initiative for its cloud‑hosted applications. We need a REST API Developer to reinforce API layers, audit existing endpoints, and embed security best practices while keeping delivery agile.

Key responsibilities

• Review and refactor existing REST APIs for OWASP compliance
• Implement authentication, authorization, and rate‑limiting mechanisms
• Write automated tests covering security edge cases
• Collaborate with cloud engineers to integrate API gateways and WAF rules
• Document security patterns and update API specifications

Must-have skills

• Strong experience building and securing REST APIs
• Proficiency in NodeJS and JavaScript
• Hands‑on knowledge of PostgreSQL schema design and query hardening
• Familiarity with cloud security tools (e.g., AWS WAF, IAM)

Nice to have

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for automated security scans
• Understanding of JWT, OAuth2, and API throttling strategies
