About the role

Harbor Softworks is revamping its legacy production platform to achieve zero‑downtime deployments. As a Senior Database Administrator you will lead the data layer transformation, ensuring seamless migration and continuous availability for the new Aurora Sync Engine module.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a blue‑green deployment strategy for PostgreSQL and MySQL clusters using Patroni and Orchestrator.
• Migrate critical tables to sharded MongoDB collections while preserving ACID guarantees.
• Automate schema versioning and data migration scripts with Flyway and Liquibase integrated into CI pipelines.
• Set up real‑time replication monitoring and alerting in Grafana and Prometheus to meet zero‑downtime SLAs.
• Conduct performance tuning sessions, analyzing query plans and index usage during each migration wave.
• Document migration runbooks and hand‑off procedures for the operations team.

Must-have skills

• Deep expertise in PostgreSQL and MySQL administration.
• Hands‑on experience with MongoDB replication and sharding.
• Proficiency in Linux server environments and scripting (Bash, Python).
• Strong knowledge of database migration tools and CI/CD integration.
• Ability to troubleshoot latency and concurrency issues under load.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud‑native databases (Amazon RDS, Azure Cosmos DB).
• Familiarity with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning.
