About the role

Orbit Labs is revamping the performance and reliability of its customer‑facing services. We need a seasoned Java Developer to lead the core refactor, improve latency, and ensure high availability across microservice boundaries.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze existing services, identify bottlenecks, and design optimized Java solutions
• Implement Spring Boot based microservices with robust error handling and metrics
• Integrate profiling tools and set up automated performance testing pipelines
• Collaborate with QA and DevOps to enforce reliability standards
• Document architectural decisions and guide junior engineers

Must-have skills

• 5+ years of Java development experience
• Deep expertise in Spring Boot and building microservices
• Proven track record of performance tuning and reliability engineering

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes or Docker orchestration
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus or Grafana
