Senior MongoDB Specialist – Pipeline Reliability

About the role

Northbay Systems is launching a CI/CD and platform automation sprint to accelerate release cycles. We need a MongoDB Specialist to design and implement data pipelines that integrate tightly with our automated deployment workflow.

Key responsibilities

• Design schema and indexing strategies for high‑throughput pipelines
• Build scripts to provision, backup, and restore MongoDB clusters via CI/CD tools
• Automate performance testing and query optimization as part of release pipelines
• Collaborate with DevOps engineers to embed MongoDB health checks in deployment stages
• Document best practices for versioned data migrations

Must-have skills

• Deep expertise with MongoDB clustering, sharding, and aggregation
• Experience integrating databases into Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar CI/CD systems
• Proficiency in scripting languages (JavaScript/NodeJS) for automation
• Strong understanding of Linux environments and containerization

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Terraform or Ansible for infrastructure as code
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus or Datadog
• Previous work on large‑scale data migration projects
