About the role

Vertex Analytics is launching a security hardening initiative for its suite of cloud‑hosted analytics applications. As a Terraform Infrastructure Engineer you will lead the creation of hardened infrastructure patterns for the new "Sentinel Shield" module, ensuring compliance and resilience across AWS environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement Terraform modules that enforce CIS‑AWS benchmarks for all new VPCs and IAM roles.
• Automate security‑focused drift detection using Sentinel policies integrated with GitHub Actions.
• Collaborate with the security team to embed runtime hardening scripts (e.g., AWS Config, GuardDuty) into the CI/CD pipeline.
• Conduct quarterly threat‑model reviews and update Terraform code to remediate identified gaps.
• Document the "Sentinel Shield" architecture and produce reusable blueprints for future projects.
• Mentor junior engineers on secure IaC practices and Terraform state management.

Must-have skills

• 5+ years of Terraform experience building production‑grade AWS infrastructure.
• Deep knowledge of AWS security services (IAM, KMS, GuardDuty, Config).
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
• Experience writing Sentinel or OPA policies for compliance enforcement.
• Strong scripting skills in Bash or Python for automation tasks.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Docker container security scanning tools.
• Certifications such as AWS Certified Security – Specialty.
