About the role

Pinecrest Systems is launching a security hardening initiative for its cloud‑hosted applications. We need a Microservices Architect to design, evaluate, and reinforce the security posture of our distributed services.

Key responsibilities

• Assess existing microservice communication patterns and identify attack surfaces.
• Define security standards for API authentication, encryption, and secret management.
• Guide refactoring of services to incorporate zero‑trust principles and least‑privilege access.
• Collaborate with DevOps to embed security controls into CI/CD pipelines.
• Document hardened architecture and provide knowledge transfer to engineering teams.

Must-have skills

• Deep experience designing secure microservice ecosystems.
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Strong Java development background.
• Hands‑on knowledge of OAuth2, mTLS, and secret management tools.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) security services.
• Experience with automated security testing (SAST, DAST, IaC scans).
